Jackie Pool Associates have a commitment to improving the experience of
people with dementia. Our customers throughout the UK are Social
Services, Health Trusts and the independent sector, and our programmes
are mainly for care workers and managers in residential or nursing care
environments. The learning outcomes are linked to NVQ levels 2 or 3 in
Care.
We are always interested to hear from skilled trainers with a professional background in dementia care and a passion for sharing their knowledge. We adhere to our equal opportunities policy and operate an environment which does not restrict applications on the basis of any gender, sexual orientation, race, age or disability. The work is varied in terms of locality and does require an ability to travel and be away from home (although not usually for more than 1 or 2 nights).
We have regular support for our team – via telephone, email and through shared training on occasion. We also have quarterly meetings for the whole team to network, update and enjoy!
A daily fee is negotiated with our trainers according to experience. In addition we pay travel expenses at 40 pence per mile (or flight/train costs) and any subsistence costs. We ask that trainers have their own transport and a clean driving licence. In addition we require our freelance trainers to have their own basic training equipment of a powerpoint projector and a pc or laptop. We provide all of the materials and carry out all of the administrative work – leaving the trainer free to deliver the programme. The material and programme give the shape to each course, but each trainer brings to it their own delivery style and personal experiences to bring each programme to life. Following delivery of each event, the trainer returns the post-course evaluations and a reflective report from their own perspective.
We ask for a commitment of a minimum of 20 days training per year from our freelance trainers and we then liaise with each trainer to offer them work and to agree dates that are convenient to them and to the customer.
