Jackie Pool

image of Jackie Pool Managing Director Jackie Pool is a state-registered Occupational Therapist specialising in dementia care. She qualified in 1988 and following her work as a clinical practitioner in the NHS and Local Authority, formed her own training and consultancy organisation: Jackie Pool Associates Ltd, in 1990. As an Alzheimer’s Society approved trainer Jackie also qualified at the Advanced Level in the nationally recognised person-centred care approach and Dementia Care Mapping technique which was developed by Bradford University Dementia Group. She has published several works on the care of older people with dementia, including journal articles, training manuals and chapters in textbooks. Jackie is the author of the Pool Activity Level Instrument which is being used widely in Health and Social Services care establishments and in community settings in the UK and around the world. Jackie Pool is an honorary lecturer in Occupational Therapy at the school of Health Profession at the University of Southampton.Jackie is also a regular speaker at national and international conferences on the subject of dementia / mental capacity and Protection Of Vulnerable Adults.


Sarah Mould

image of Sarah Mould Sarah joined JPA Ltd in September 2005 as Training and Development Consultant. She has been an Occupational Therapist for older people with mental health problems since 1994. Before joining Jackie Pool Associates, Sarah worked as a clinician and manager within a large NHS Trust, with a lead for education, development and training for the older peoples’ mental health directorate. Sarah is continually updating her knowledge and skills in the field of dementia care and is currently studying toward the MSc in Dementia Studies with the University of Stirling. Sarah is an Alzheimer’s Society Approved Trainer.


Sarah Till

image of Sarah till Sarah joined JPA Ltd in 2004. Her role as Office and Finance Manager is to ensure the smooth running of the office systems to support the Associates to deliver their highest level of service. Sarah’s particular skills with our training software and IT systems play an important part in this. Also responsible for the JPA financial systems, Sarah is currently working towards an accounting qualification with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and the organisation and our customers are benefiting from the application of her learning to our financial procedures.


Jane Rankine

image of Jane Rankine Jane joined JPA Ltd in February 2008 as part time Training Services Co-ordinator. She has a varied background in administrative work, including working for a City Headhunter for five years. Jane has strong IT skills and is a valued addition to the JPA team, responsible for administrating all the courses run by Jackie Pool Associates. Her previous training experience with BAA plc also gives her insight into what is required to support successful courses and she is key to managing the logistics of delivering our training courses around the UK.


Jane Jeffs

image of Jane Jeffs Jane is a Senior Associate Trainer with JPA Ltd. She holds the City and Guilds of London Institute certificate in direct training and also the NVQ level 4 in training and development. Jane’s background is as a care worker, manager and trainer in Adult Social Services. Jane is a NVQ Assessor in health and social care, with a particular interest in the protection of vulnerable adults. She joined Jackie Pool Associates Ltd. in September 2004 and is a highly skilled member of the teamJane Jeffs is also on the steering group of the Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole branch of the Practitioners Alliance Against Abuse of Vulnerable Adults (PAVA) setting up quarterly meetings to enable practitioners from all agencies across Dorset to come together to share new developments, ideas for good practice interventions and generate positive outcomes in working with the abuse of vulnerable adults. Nationally PAVA hopes to achieve this by developing inter-agency working, encouraging local networks, promoting problem-solving on key issues and dilemmas in practice and lobbying at both national and local government levels.


Tim Forester-Morgan

image of Tim Forester Tim works with JPA Ltd as the Service Development and Training Manager. He is a practicing artist and sculptor with a BA (with Hons) in Multi Disciplinary Design. Following his roles as an Arts Project Leader at Wythenshawe Psychiatric Hospital and as an Activities Organiser in a Nursing Home for the elderly, Tim began working as the Service Manager for Social Activities with Jewish Care. Tim went on to develop his skills and knowledge in dementia care. Before joining JPA Ltd, Tim was working on the Dementia Development Project with Jewish Care and is a qualified Dementia Care Mapper. Tim is currently being supported by JPA Ltd to obtain the Alzheimer’s Society Approved Trainer status.


Carolyn Baseley

image of Carolyn Baseley Carolyn joined JPA Ltd in January 2005 and became a permanent member of the team in 2008. Carolyn qualified as a R.G.N. in 1992 and worked as a staff nurse until 1997. Since then she has gained the Certificate in Education and the Diploma in Nursing Studies from Southampton University. She was a Learning and Development Officer for Portsmouth Social Services for eight years during which time she delivered Induction and Foundation courses for all Social Care staff and also planned, implemented and evaluated Dementia Care Mapping projects. Carolyn gained her BSc (Hons) in Psychology at the University of Portsmouth in 2007, receiving the John Dennis Prize for best project and the British Psychological Society Award for best performing student. She is currently studying for an MSc in psychological research methods.


Dr Lesley Collier, PhD. Msc. Dip COT, MBAOT

image of Dr lesley Collier Lesley qualified as an Occupational Therapist from the London School of Occupational Therapy in 1985. She has worked in a variety of clinical areas including neurology, orthopaedics, and older people. As well as being a JP associate she also works as a lecturer in Occupational Therapy at the School of Health Sciences, University of Southampton. Her main teaching roles involve teaching biological sciences, neurology and sensory processing in people with cognitive disorders to occupational therapy and physiotherapy students. Lesley is actively involved in research exploring the therapeutic value of multi-sensory environments for people with dementia.


Judy Carole

image of Judy Carole Judy owned and ran a property business abroad for 20 years. When she returned to the UK she decided to leave the business world and volunteered in Sue Ryder Hospice for eighteen months following which she became Care Manager of a Domiciliary Care Agency in Hampshire and achieved her NVQ4 in Care Management. Judy also successfully completed a course with the Open University on Death Dying and Bereavement and apart from Dementia she trains in End of Life Care and Grief and Loss.Judy joined JPA Ltd in 2007 and she is committed to helping ensuring that older people have a quality of end of life.


Margaret-Anne Tibbs

image of Margaret-Anne Tibbs Having worked as a specialist social worker for people living with dementia for ten years with Bedfordshire County Council, Margaret Anne became a freelance trainer and consult in dementia care in 1997. She worked with Bradford Dementia Group from 1998-2001 on a longitudinal research project into well being in care homes. A former trustee of the Alzheimer's Society, she founded the North and Mid Beds. branch of the Society and was chairman for 12 years. She continues to be actively involved with the branch.She is the author of two text books for social workers. 'Social work and Dementia: Good practice and care management" . Published in 2001 by Jessica Kinglsely as part of the BDG Good Practice Guides series."Social work and people with dementia; Partnerships,practice and persistance"Joint author with Professor Mary Marshall. 2006. Policy Press. She is particularly interested in the issue of cultural diversity and dementia.


Chrissie Hosking

image of Chrissie Hoskings Chrissie is a senior occupational therapist with a speciality in working with elders with mental health needs and an accredited counsellor in independent practice, based in the Midlands. She has been involved in training nationally and internationally over the past 15 years. In addition to training with Jackie Pool Associates Ltd., Chrissie has worked with various NHS Trusts to improve their care practices for elders with mental health needs; both by direct involvement with service users and their carers and working alongside clinical and managerial staff.


Carol Provan

image Carol’s background in Care has been over 17 years. She started working in the Physiotherapy Department of the NHS Mental Health for older people looking at the Physical needs of older people especially those with Dementia. Carol then moved to the Private Sector for a period of 2 years before moving to the Voluntary Sector for 14 years. She was responsible for setting up a Dementia Unit within a Care home and then Managed a Care Home and Daycare For those with Dementia. Carol has the Registered Managers award, SVQ4 and also the Assesors Award for SVQ's (NVQ'S). In 2005-2006 Carol studied with Dementia Services at Stirling University for the Advanced Semester in Person Centered Care. Carol joined JPA Ltd in 2006 and also does work for Age Concern and Aberdeen College. She facilitated a workshop for Crossreach International Dementia Conference 2008 looking at Life Story's of those with Dementia "the Person not the Illness". Although based in central Scotland Carol trains all over the UK.
