Dementia Awareness Training Resource

From only £795.00* care providers are enabled to deliver a standard set
of key messages about good practice in dementia care to all of the care
staff in their organisation.
OCR (the NVQ Awarding body), recognises
the identified areas of this programme relating to the Level 2 NVQ in
Health and Social Care knowledge and understanding requirements. This
can be used in the accreditation of prior learning process.
Learning outcomes
On completion of participants will have met learning outcomes 1.1; 1.3, 1.4; 1.5; 1.6 and, 3.1 of the Knowledge Set for Dementia. Participants will have:
- Some understanding of the effect of conditions that may cause dementia
- Acknowledged the impact a care worker’s interaction skills can have in the process of dementia
- I dentified practical ways you can work with service users with dementia
- Understood the need for a positive and effective communication with the individual with dementia
- Explored how activities, therapies and medication may be used to help individuals with dementia

Agreed the importance of maintaining the general good health and
well-being of the individuals with dementia
