Description
This workshop is intended for all those working with people with dementia who want to increase their skills in providing stimulating activities. The workshop is based on the Pool Activity Level (PAL) Instrument and uses a ‘hands-on’ approach with a range of activities.

On completion of this programme, participants will have:
- Had opportunity to gain new activity ideas and share experiences
- Accessed information about activity resources
- Explored how to facilitate the engagement of people with different levels of ability
Programme includes
- Facilitating engagement at different levels of ability
- Practice in facilitating – table top games, social games, creative activities, sensory activities
- Discussion – issues arising and planning the way forward
This programme is recognised by OCR, the NVQ Awarding body, as
providing the underpinning knowledge and understanding for the Skills
for Care National Occupational Standards for NVQ level 2 in Health and
Social Care:
